What is a crossover car?
A crossover car is one which mixes two body styles. Traditionally, a crossover car has the price tag and the practicality of a hatchback with the styling of an SUV. Crossovers tend to be larger than hatchbacks with a higher ride height and ease of access just like an SUV. They tend to have a smaller, more economical engine like you would see in your average hatchback. A crossover car is a great option if you want something which is cheap to run but large enough for the family.
1. MINI Countryman.
The MINI Countryman is a perfect example of a crossover car. The MINI has been well-loved by UK drivers for many years but for many, they are too small for everyday driving. So, let us introduce you to the MINI Countryman. It’s a 5-door model which offers superb ride quality and comfort. Not only that but there are also lots of options to choose from, there are 2 types of petrol engine, a powerful plug-in hybrid and an impressive all-electric model too. The MINI Countryman is really versatile and it’s even featured on our list of the best cars for driving in the snow.

The Citroen C3 Cactus may not be to everyone’s taste but we like the funky styling of this model.
